Loop & Topspin
Topspin - A type of spin used on most aggressive shots, with an extreme amount being used in the loop shot.
When you topspin the ball, the top of the ball moves away from you.
Backspin - A type of spin used mostly on defensive shots.
When you chop the ball, you produce backspin. The bottom of the ball will move away from you.
Loop - A heavy topspin shot usually considered the most important shot in the game.
Many players either specialize in looping or in handling the loop.
Push - A backspin return of backspin. Usually defensive.
Chop - A defensive return of a drive with backspin, usually done from well away from the table. (See backspin.)

- Loop Drive(Forehand Loop, Backhand Loop):

loop
Definition: A loop in table tennis is a stroke that has extremely heavy topspin, which causes the ball to dip rapidly towards the playing surface.
The amount of forward speed can be varied, from a ball with medium forward speed and extreme topspin (the typical loop), to a ball with fast forward speed and very heavy topspin (a loop drive or loopdrive), to a ball with extreme forward speed and heavy topspin (a powerloop, loop kill, loopkill, or rip).
The first loops in table tennis actually had very slow forward speed, and extremely heavy topspin. Over time this original version of the loop (now called the slow loop) has become less popular as the pace of the game has increased.
Also Known As: loop drive, loopdrive, loop kill, loopkill, rip, slow loop, powerloop
topspin
Definition: In table tennis, topspin occurs when the top of the ball is going in the same direction as the ball is moving, and the bottom of the ball is moving in the opposite direction to the motion of the ball.
Topspin causes the ball to drop faster than by gravity alone, and is used by players to allow the ball to be hit harder but still land on the table. When extreme topspin is put on the ball, the shot is called a loop.
Also Known As: overspin, upspin
